Join our Volunteer Team

The Freeman Stage, who won the 2016 Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Award, relies on the generous support and dedication of our many volunteers. Volunteering provides more than just the satisfaction of giving back to your community – it’s also a lot of fun! There are a number of ways you can be involved and we are happy to work with you to find a role that suits your passion.

Reasons to volunteer:

  • Spend summer evenings under the stars
  • Meet new friends and neighbors

Minimum Volunteer Requirements:

  • Serve a minimum of 40 hours in a one year period (Oct 1-Sept 30)
  • Register for at least 2 non-Stage opportunities &/or mission based shows
  • Participate in a training/orientation session & sign the annual agreement letter
  • Treat others with respect at all times
  • Are 16 years of age or older or approved by the Manager of Sales & Patron Experience

  • The Freeman Stage, an open-air performing arts venue located near Fenwick Island, Delaware, first opened in the summer of 2008. A program of the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation, a fundraising 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization, The Freeman Stage presents diverse programming in the genres of dance, live music, theatre and children’s programming.


This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com
