7 tips for ticket buying success

  1. Create an account with Eventbrite at www.eventbrite.com
  2. No, really. Create an Eventbrite account. It will make the process easier on your end when it’s time to purchase tickets online.
  3. Make a prioritized list of shows you want tickets for. Save the events you are interested in attending ahead of time in Eventbrite by clicking on the vertical banner-type icon for each event. This will allow you to go back to the “Saved Events” tab under the Log-In icon, when it’s time to buy.
  4. Let your credit card company know ahead of time that you will be making multiple purchases (from merchant EB*) on the day you will be purchasing.
  5. Shop for your tickets online on freemanstage.org, Eventbrite.com, or through the Eventbrite app.
  6. Want to pick your own seats? Use a desktop or laptop computer. Mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) will only offer best available.
  7. Pick up the mouse, not your phone: While we would be happy to help you with your tickets over the phone, it is the slowest method to buy tickets. Calling in offers no advantage in speed or seat selection.

In 2017 we are introducing a new ticketing system, Eventbrite, which offers a streamlined ticket-buying experience. If you are unfamiliar with Eventbrite, here are a few tips to follow when you are purchasing tickets for any performance at The Freeman Stage at Bayside:

Do I need to create an account before purchasing?

You don't need to have an account set up in order to purchase a ticket. When you purchase a ticket, an Eventbrite account will automatically be created for you. If you’d like to create an account in advance to save a few steps during the purchase process, visit www.eventbrite.com and click “Sign Up” in the upper-right corner of your screen. If you have an Eventbrite account, once you make your first purchase, you have the option of saving your credit card information to make your next purchases quicker! (You can delete your credit card information at any time.)

Can I purchase tickets for multiple events in one transaction?

With Eventbrite, in order to deter possible credit card fraud, you are only able to purchase one show at a time. We suggest that you start with the performance that you’d like to attend the most, complete that transaction, the start a new order for the next show you’d like tickets for.

I'm buying tickets to multiple shows. Should I let my credit card company know?

Because you may have multiple transactions, we suggest contacting your credit card company ahead of time to communicate that you are expecting to use your credit card multiples times. Charges will come up as “EB *Name of performance” For example, if you are buying tickets for Chicago, it should show as “EB *Chicago.” All banks/credit card companies are different, but failure to do this step may cause fraudulent warnings if several purchases are made in a short amount of time.

Step-by-Step Purchasing Instructions:

If purchasing on a laptop or desktop computer:

  1. Select your ticket quantity from the dropdown next to your desired ticket type and click “View on Map.”

  2. The Eventbrite system will automatically select the best available seats and bring you to the seat map. From there, you can proceed to checkout OR click on the seat map to select alternative seats. Please make sure to unselect the original seats if you want to choose others. You have 8 minutes to select your seat.

  3. Once you click “Checkout,” you’ll be taken to the order form and will have 6 minutes to enter payment information and complete your order.

If purchasing on a mobile device:

  1. Select your ticket quantity from the dropdown next to your desired ticket type and click “Checkout.”

  2. The Eventbrite system will automatically select the best available seats and take you to the checkout screen.

  3. Click “View” on the checkout page to expand text details of your assigned section, row and specific seat(s).

  4. You have 14 minutes to enter your details and click “Pay Now.”

Can I call in to order my tickets?

While we would be happy to help you with your tickets over the phone (302-436-3015), it is the slowest method to buy tickets. Calling in offers no advantage in speed or seat selection.

What is the ticketing fee?

All performance tickets are subject to an additional ticketing fees. The fee will range based on cost of ticket transaction.

Choosing your seats for Assigned Seating shows

If you’re purchasing on a desktop or laptop computer, you can choose your own seat by selecting from the seat map on the day of purchase. If you’re purchasing from a mobile device, the system will only choose the best available seats for you based on the price point and quantity selected.

FOR ASSIGNED SEATING SHOWS: Can I choose my own seat location?

If you’re purchasing on a desktop or laptop computer, you can choose your own seat by selecting from the seat map or call the box office on the day of purchase. If you’re purchasing from a mobile device or the Eventbrite app, the system will only choose the best available seats for you based on the price point and quantity selected.

FOR ASSIGNED SEATING SHOWS: What happens if the quantity I want is not available, or seats aren’t available together?

If you’re purchasing on a desktop or laptop computer, you will be prompted to select a different number of tickets. Once you’re in the seat map, you can click on additional seats to add them to your order. If you’re purchasing from a mobile device, you will be prompted to select a different number of tickets or select a different ticket type. If successful, you will be taken to the checkout screen with the best available seats.

FOR ASSIGNED SEATING SHOWS: What happens if I want different seats than the “Best Available” seats assigned to me?

If you are unsatisfied with the “Best Available” seats assigned to you during the mobile purchase flow, tap the back button in your browser before pressing “Pay Now” on your mobile device. Then, you’ll be able to select new tickets from any ticket type and receive another “Best Available” seat assignment.
